Abstract
The article presents the teacher, writer and theatre historian Kazimierz Olszewski and describes the manuscripts from his legacy collected in the Special Collections of the Silesian Library. Olszewski
lived almost the entire 20th century; born in 1909, during the partitions, survived two world wars and died in 1996 in free Poland. The
archive he collected includes personal documents, diaries, private
and business correspondence, literary texts and a rich collection of
materials on the history of amateur theatres in Silesia and Zagłębie
Dąbrowskie in the 19th and 20th centuries.
