Abstract

The text presents the legacy of Józef Ligęza, which is in the collection
of the Biblioteka Śląska. The collection consists of about 500 photographs, diplomas, awards and decorations. The subjects of the photosare varied, but most of them show the changes taking place in Upper
Silesia, i.a. in Katowice: in the city landscape, architecture and society. The preserved photographs are an important part of Polish cultural heritage.
