Abstract
In the Silesian Library in Katowice, there are a variety of materials
related to scouting, including valuable manuscript legacies and photographs. The author of the article discusses the memorabilia of Józef Kret, a Silesian scout instructor, donated to the library by Leon
Marshal and Krystyna Heska-Kwaśniewicz. In the article, the main
groups of manuscripts were presented subsequently: biographical
materials, manuscripts related to Kret’s professional work and activities, workshop materials, as well as memoir and posthumous materials. Additionally, the author sheds light on the correspondence and
photographs from the legacy of Adela Korczyńska and delves into the
relationship between scoutmaster Kret and the girl guide Ada, as well
as Korczyńska’s involvement in the creation of the book „Harcerze
wierni do ostatka” (Scouts Faithful Until the Last).
